MAPStudio, a Chicago-based architecture and design firm, seeks a licensed architect to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate has strong technical and design skills, thrives in collaborative environments, and is eager to contribute to diverse projects including renovations, new construction, and adaptive reuse. This role offers rapid growth within our innovative studio, which partners closely with MAP Strategies to integrate code, zoning, and permitting into the design process. Responsibilities include project management, client relations, construction administration, and studio development. Passion for thoughtful design and adaptive problem-solving is essential. Desired Experience
  • Presentation to clients, client management
  • Simultaneous management of multiple projects 
  • Production of both design and construction documents
  • Interaction with City of Chicago rules, regulations, and procedure
Software Proficiency
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit
  • Adobe Creative Suite / Affinity
  • Bluebeam
  • Understanding of 3D modeling and rendering programs such as Rhino, Sketch Up, and Enscape
  • Word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation apps (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides)

  • Demonstrated architectural design skills
  • Demonstrated architectural drafting skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Client-facing communicator 
  • Creative problem solving
  • Develop understanding of compliance processes and local and national zoning and building codes and how to apply strategy to improve project timeline
  • Facilitate and anticipate future outcomes to achieve desired project results for clients
  • Ability to cultivate leads to help grow the firm and client base

Benefits: 

  • $80,000 to $120,000 commensurate with experience and skill set of the applicant
