Chipman Design Architecture is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead retail, restaurant, and hospitality projects from planning through completion. This role serves as a key liaison between clients, consultants and internal project teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who enjoys mentoring others while managing multiple fast-paced projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead multiple concurrent projects through all phases of design and construction.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and clear communication.
Oversee project schedules, milestones, budgets, and overall project profitability.
Manage project team workloads, priorities, and daily task execution.
Coordinate and review construction documents for client, permit, and bidding requirements.
Direct and collaborate with consultants, vendors, and engineering partners to resolve project challenges.
Conduct client meetings, site visits, surveys, and post-construction punch list reviews.
Mentor and develop project team members while supporting a collaborative work environment.
Assist with staffing planning, project resource allocation, and hiring initiatives.
Bachelor's or professional degree in Architecture required.
Minimum 8 years of experience managing retail, restaurant, or hospitality projects.
Architectural licensure preferred.
LEED accreditation preferred.
Strong proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD.
Experience managing construction documentation and consultant coordination.
Knowledge of building codes, zoning requirements and ADA compliance.
Ability to perform and review code analyses and coordinate with code officials when necessary.
Strong project management, organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven ability to manage client relationships and provide exceptional customer service.
Ability to potentially travel occasionally for site visits, client meetings and project-related activities.
