We are seeking a talented, passionate individual to join our practice under the Project Designer title. The candidate should have excellent communication, design, and technical skills as well as working experience in multi-family residential and other commercial projects.
Responsibilities will include support in development of projects in design and construction phases including code/zoning, conceptualization and visualization, technical priorities, construction documentation, as well as construction administration.
Canopy is rooted in a collective design process; thus, the ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated yet eager to work collaboratively in a hybrid-work environment including periodic field visits for projects.
Applicant Requirements
The Project Designer position requires overall skill and knowledge in design, drawing documentation, and construction administration including; zoning and code studies, schematic design, design development, permitting, construction documents and construction observation (1-2 years of experience min.). Working knowledge of local construction methodologies, engineering systems, specifications, and accessibility codes is preferred. A professional or bachelor's degree in architecture or a related field is required. LEED and/or NCARB-AXP registration is preferred but not required. Revit, Adobe, and Microsoft software knowledge is preferred including experience with MS Teams, and other audio/video virtual meeting platforms.
