This program examines Chicago’s architectural history through the research and reconstruction of significant buildings that have been demolished or substantially altered over time. Participants will explore how architectural documentation, historical research, and visual reconstruction can inform an understanding of historic buildings, neighborhood evolution, preservation, and the cultural significance of the built environment. The program will also consider how lessons from Chicago’s architectural past can inform contemporary approaches to preservation and design.
