Rising 788 feet at the southern edge of Chicago’s Historic Michigan Boulevard District, 1000M completes a long-missing segment of the avenue’s streetwall while establishing a contemporary residential landmark overlooking Grant Park. Recognized with the City’s Preservation Excellence Award, the project demonstrates how high-performance residential design can reinforce the historic character of a significant civic corridor. Its faceted tower maximizes views of Lake Michigan, Grant Park, and the skyline, while a contextual podium maintains Michigan Avenue’s pedestrian scale and continuity. Together, the building forms a distinct gateway between Chicago’s historic urban fabric and its natural landscape.
