December 4, 2024, CHICAGO – AIA Chicago, the second largest local chapter of the American Institute of Architects and the collective voice of over 4,000 licensed architects, emerging professionals, architecture students, and allied professionals, is proud to announce Janeen Harrell, AIA, and Breah Page, AIA as the recipients of the 2024 Presidential Citation. This prestigious honor recognizes their exemplary leadership, dedication to the architectural profession, and commitment to advancing equity and collaboration within the industry.

Selected by AIA Chicago President Lynda Dossey, AIA, the 2024 Presidential Citation celebrates the significant contributions Harrell and Page have made to the success of the AIA Women’s Leadership Summit held in Chicago and the architectural community at large.

Janeen Harrell, AIA, has a decade of experience representing her peers at state and national levels of AIA leadership, all while establishing her own firm and championing sustainable design through the 2030 goals. This year, Harrell extended her service to co-chair the AIA Women’s Leadership Summit in Chicago, bringing her expertise and vision to this national platform.

Breah Page, AIA, balanced dual roles in 2024 as co-chair of the AIA Women’s Leadership Summit and Chair of the 50th Anniversary Committee for Chicago Women in Architecture (CWA). Page spearheaded a year-long series of programs, panels, walking tours, and an exhibition at the Chicago Architecture Center to celebrate CWA’s legacy while inspiring future generations of architects.

“These two leaders embody the mission and vision of AIA Chicago,” said Lynda Dossey, President of AIA Chicago. “Their tireless efforts have not only showcased Chicago on a national stage but have also fostered a culture of inclusivity, design excellence, and equity.”

Presidential Citation is awarded annually at the discretion of the AIA Chicago President of the Board of Directors to individuals who have provided outstanding service to the chapter and profession. Recipients exemplify AIA Chicago’s mission to build on the city’s architectural legacy through advocacy, knowledge sharing, and community partnership.

The 2024 Presidential Citation honorees will be celebrated at the Building Together: Awards Program and Holiday Open House on Wednesday December 4, 2024, at the Chicago Architecture Center and at AIA Chicago’s Members-Only Annual Meeting on Monday, December 9th, 2024.
