Elliott Dudnik is the Principal of Elliott Dudnik + Associates, an architectural-engineering firm working in both the public and private sectors specializing in projects of all scales, most specifically historic preservation, accessibility, building failures, remediation, and adaptive reuse. Firm projects have been awarded more than a dozen preservation and other architectural awards. He has also served as technical consultant and expert witness for the City of Chicago and numerous other entities in matters involving building collapses or failures, accessibility, and matters of building codes, standards of practice, and construction.
Elliott is also Professor Emeritus of Architecture, University of Illinois at Chicago, where he taught at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, served as Director of Graduate Studies and Associate Director of the School of Architecture. He also taught at the School of the Art Institute, Illinois In¬stitute of Technology, and Univer¬sities of Sydney and Newcastle (Australia) aside from lecturing at other universities in the United States, Asia, and Europe. Recipient of both a Fulbright-Hays Lectureship-Fellowship and Na¬tional Science Foundation Fellowship and more than thirty research or curriculum development grants, he has authored more than fifty publi¬cations and cited in more than two dozen others.
