Ashley Spell

Ashley Spell is the Director of Education and Awards for AIA Chicago – the local chapter of the American Institute of Architects. She comes to AIA Chicago with a rich background in higher education and visual art, and an ardent interest in architecture. Before joining AIA Chicago, she served as the Director of Alumni Relations for the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She focused on student admissions at Columbia College Chicago, and, prior to that, donor relations and event management at the University of Virginia and Georgetown University. Passionate about building a creative community, Ashley specializes in program development, fostering lifelong learning, and constituent engagement. She studied art history and studio art at Virginia Commonwealth University and is a practicing artist, primarily working in mixed-media painting.
