Full time position for a designer with a minimum of 8 years of experience in a professional, collaborative studio setting. This opportunity will provide exposure to a variety of project types, including mixed-use multi-family developments, office interiors, and a variety of hospitality driven projects. The position will work directly with Principals as part of a multi-disciplined design studio to develop and lead the technical viewpoint of large scale projects.   Responsibilities:
  • Lead all phases of a project, working with a team of staff and consultants.
  • Participate in collaborative effort to develop design concepts, including investigation, evaluations, and recommendation of design solutions that best meet the client’s goals
  • Independently apply advanced architectural concepts and designs in the development of drawings and related project documentation from Schematic Design through to Construction Documentation
  • Lead the research and documentation of project related requirements including building technologies, material systems, and municipal regulations
  • Research and direct building envelope detailing and design
  • Manage Construction Administration tasks throughout construction of the project
  • Communicate with clients, studio colleagues, as well as with consultants to coordinate project tasks and goals
  • Provide technical guidance to less experienced architectural staff
 

Applicant Requirements

REQUIREMENTS Applicant should meet the following criteria:
  • Professional degree in Architecture with exemplary academic and professional design skills
  • 8 years or more of full-time post-graduate experience working in commercial and/or residential design
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; working knowledge of SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite applications (Acrobat, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Working knowledge of Bluebeam Revu preferred
  • Experience assembling and managing Construction Documentation
  The ideal candidate will possess a keen awareness regarding the components required to deliver innovative, yet realistic developed design solutions that satisfy our client's programmatic; design; and overall project goals. They should take initiative, communicate effectively working within a team and demonstrate successful problem-solving skills.
