About the Job
Responsibilities: - Advance the firm’s current design technology standards by redeveloping and improving application for project teams. - Supervise the execution of the standards by providing direct support and troubleshooting to project teams as needed. - Customize M2’s design technology standards as well as client-specific standards. - Assist with project specific complex 3D modeling tasks, BIM family creation, clash detection reporting and resolution. - Provide training to staff on M2 design technology standards and procedures. - Manage and maintain documentation of the M2 design technology standards including Materials Library, standard details, rendering assets, and graphic standards. - Leading, organizing, training, and establishing best practices for M2’s in-house 3D printing, laser cutting, VR tools, and future technology tools. - Managing design technology licensing and software rollouts
Qualifications: - Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline is required. - Minimum of 5 years of experience in an architecture, engineering, or design firm - Expert level proficiency in Autodesk Revit required. - Skilled in Sketchup, Rhino, Grasshopper. - Skilled in Adobe Suite preferred. - Experience with 3D coordination/clash detection using software such as Navisworks. - Experience with remote computing solutions is preferred. - Experience with BIM management is highly desirable - Familiarity with architecture documentation processes and construction document organization Ideal Candidate: - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. - Ability to clearly articulate processes verbally, graphically, and in writing. - Excellent patience and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage assignments under deadline pressure. Flexibility and overtime may be required. - Thoughtful communicator and problem solver who is eager to observe, listen, collaborate, and teach. - Eager to learn new skills and test new technologies - Travel may be required to support M2’s other offices

The Design Technology Manager will be responsible for organizing, improving, implementing, and maintaining M2’s design technology standards and BIM best practices. This position will also be expected to supervise and coordinate the implementation of design technology on a variety of projects across the firm’s practice by working closely with firm leadership and team members to ensure consistency and efficiency in production of project design deliverables.
