Farnsworth Group is seeking an Architectural Section Manager in our Lisle or Chicago, IL office. In this role, you will have the opportunity to market and manage multi-disciplinary teams for a wide range of projects including large commercial office and retail developments, K-12 and higher education projects, national industrial & distribution projects, healthcare projects, recreation & community centers, and high demand advanced technology projects such as semi-conductor facilities. You will also assist in growing and supervising a dynamic architectural staff, while also working alongside and obtaining support from our strong national architectural team.
A typical day of a Senior Project Architect at Farnsworth Group:
- Create, manage, and produce projects for the range of market sectors indicated above.
- Provide the primary designer and leadership roles to our multi-disciplinary teams on projects throughout all stages, from concept to delivery.
- Assist in hiring and building a skilled architectural staff as project and client growth dictate.
- Strong business development skills, including significant experience building and maintaining productive relationships with a client base
- Create long-term relationships and delivering long-term value to clients
- Develop and drive marketing plans, budgets, and key performance indicators
- Develop, review, and approve proposals, reports, and contract documents
- Bachelor’s Degree Architecture, required, Masters, preferred
- Registered Architect (NCARB preferred, but not required)
- 10-20 years of work experience
- Proficient use of Revit required as well as computer graphic and 3D modeling experience
- Experience with SketchUp, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office, preferred
- LEED Certification preferred
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent organization, coordination, leadership, team-building and managerial skills
