TAP Plug-In Series: Strategies That Stick — Making AI and Digital Tools Work for Your Firm

The Technology in Architectural Practice (TAP) Plug-In Series is a live, podcast-style conversation designed to move beyond polished case studies and uncover what works, what doesn’t, and what firms would do differently in technology-enabled project delivery. In this session, Julide Bozoglu, PhD, Int’l Assoc. AIA, will examine how emerging AI and digital-practice developments are moving from industry conferences and early experimentation into architectural practice.

The discussion will distinguish meaningful advances from vendor hype and explore practical strategies for office-wide technology adoption, governance, staff engagement, workflow standardization, information management, and risk management. Participants will also consider how firms can evaluate technology beyond traditional return on investment by measuring its influence on design quality, consistency, productivity, knowledge reuse, staff capability, project delivery, risk reduction, and client value. The session will provide practical “do this or avoid this” takeaways and a Win/Pain/Pivot playbook that participants can apply to technology implementation and digital-practice decisions within their own organizations.

Julide Bozoglu, Ph.D., Int’l Assoc. AIA, is an architect, technology executive, educator, and international thought leader with more than two decades of experience advancing digital transformation in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry. She brings more than ten years of professional practice experience as a licensed architect, leading both design and site operations for complex projects abroad, including university campuses, healthcare facilities, and mixed-use developments. This foundation in architectural practice has given her a deep understanding of the relationship between design excellence, project delivery, and construction execution. As Director of Technology at Goettsch Partners, she leads enterprise initiatives in digital practice, BIM governance, information management, and emerging technologies. As Adjunct Faculty at the Illinois Institute of Technology, she bridges academic research and professional practice through teaching, mentoring, and applied innovation. Her work combines architecture, technology, and education to foster collaboration, strengthen professional knowledge-sharing, and support the evolving needs of the global construction community.
