Summary
The AIA Guides for Equitable Practice make the moral, business, ethical, and societal cases for equitable practice in the profession of architecture. The set of 12 chapters explore a range of topics from workplace culture, recruitment and retention, and engaging community. Led by Ryan Gann, the Chair of AIA’s Equity and the Future of Architecture Committee, this session will explore the guides, their structure, and how to deploy them discreetly at all phases of work and practice. Learn how the most recent chapter, Justice in the Built Environment, connects equity and climate action while inspiring a new model of reflection about the impacts architecture can have on communities and the complex histories that come before and after a project is built.
