Advocacy Committee February Meeting

Summary

If you’re passionate about shaping Chicago’s built environment and want your voice heard, then AIA Chicago’s Advocacy Committee meeting is the place to be. This isn’t just a passive information session; it’s a chance to join a vibrant community of architects, designers, and enthusiasts actively working with leaders to influence policy and shape our city. Here, you’ll not only stay informed about pressing issues like zoning changes, sustainability initiatives, and historic preservation, but you’ll be part of crafting solutions and strategies that move the needle. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or a budding advocate, this meeting offers a powerful platform to contribute, learn, and network with like-minded individuals who share your vision for a better Chicago.

Our upcoming meeting, led by AIA Chicago Vice President for Advocacy Natalie Hicks, AIA, will focus on the Clean and Affordable Buildings Ordinance (CABO) which was introduced in the Chicago City Council. Members will also evaluate new issues (“decisions tree”), as well as review pending issues.
