Affinity Groups
Overview
Affinity Groups are identity and mission focused groups of AIA Chicago's membership organized for the purposes of sharing information, organizing learning opportunities and events, and networking. Chapter Affinity Groups correspond to the AIA national groups but are not necessarily affiliated.
In participating in an Affinity Group, AIA Chicago members can:
- Find their people
- Determine their next career step
- Hone leadership skills
- Build community and celebrate the profession
- Serve and pay it forward

Community Engagement / Architects in Schools
The Community Engagement Knowledge Committee focuses on providing volunteer and educational opportunities for members AIA Chicago to engage with the wide-ranging and diverse communities of our city.

Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee (EDI)
Founded in 2018, the EDI Committee promotes, advocates, and creates opportunities for greater equity, diversity, and inclusivity in the practice of architecture.

LGBTQIA+ Alliance
The AIA Chicago LGBTQIA+ Alliance brings together a dynamic group of LGBTQIA+ professionals through advocacy, educational programs, community building, service opportunities, and a wide range of events.

Young Architects forum
The AIA Chicago Young Architects Forum (YAF) is a community for emerging professionals in the architecture and design industry.
