AIA Chicago Announces the Proposed 2026 Board of Directors Slate of Candidates

AIA Chicago has announced the proposed selection of members to serve on the 2026 Board of Directors

The AIA Chicago chapter Board of Directors is the representative leadership body elected by the local membership each year. All AIA Chicago architect members in good standing are eligible to be nominated or self-nominate for an open position on the Board of Directors. Open positions and calls for nominations were sent to members in August of 2025.

2026 Proposed Slate of Candidates

The individuals below have been selected by the Board of Directors Nominating Committee and approved by the 2025 Board of Directors to begin or continue terms on the AIA Chicago Board of Directors in 2026.

The AIA Chicago Board also includes three delegates from the three NAAB accredited architecture degree programs in Chicago. These individuals are appointed by their AIAS chapter and are not voted on by AIA Chicago’s membership. Delegates do not have a voting role.

The AIA Chicago Board also includes three Chicago delegates from the AIA Illinois Board of Directors. These individuals are appointed by AIA Illinois and are not voted on by AIA Chicago’s membership. Delegates do not have a voting role.

Of the nominees, 56.5% identify as female [down from 65% in 2025] and 43.5% identify as male. 39% identify as descending from minority populations [up from 30% in 2025].

The breakdown of firm size is as follows (not including students or any Delegates):
Small Firm: 1 (1-9 people) [same as 2025]
Medium Firm: 6 (10-49 people) [down from 8 in 2025]
Large Firm: 13 (49+ people) [up from 11 to 2025]
