The Pritzker Military Archives Center is designed to accommodate the ever-expanding collections of the Pritzker Military Museum & Library. The curated landscape and expansive gallery allow military scholars, as well as the public, to immerse themselves in the contributions of the citizen soldier to our military history. The design evokes a modern interpretation of military equipment, such as the amphibious landing crafts used in Normandy. The intention is tough with exposed fasteners and visible welds, yet highly refined with a high-performance enclosure reinforcing the expressive structure while modulating temperature, humidity, and ultraviolet radiation.
