The Greater Chicago Food Depository, Chicago’s food bank since 1979, supports a network of 800 hunger relief partners. In 2024, it completed Phase II of the Nourish Project—a 38,000 sqft expansion that increased capacity to prepare and distribute over 30,000 culturally appropriate meals daily. The project included expanded warehouse and volunteer spaces, sustainability upgrades earning LEED Silver, and new community-focused features like a hydroponic garden, mural wall, and donor recognition elements.
