Perched on a bluff overlooking a meandering estuary, Galien River Retreat offers a welcome antidote to urban pressures. The linear massing rides the crest, with a flat roof and extended eaves capping the living spaces and a screened porch—dubbed the "summer living room." A pop-up second floor with a canted roof lifts toward the river views. The exposed glulam structure echoes the surrounding trees and enables expansive glazed openings between columns. These beams extend seamlessly from interior to exterior, forming a trellis that connects the house to the garage and links the home to the pool terrace.
